Glasgow attack confirmed as a terrorist attack.

The attack on Glasgow has now been confirmed as a terrorist attack, no links have been made between the cars in London and Glasgow, but nails were found inside the car, so it goes without saying (unofficially) they are linked.
Also a suspect device was found on the suspect, who is in a crictical condition and has severe burns, and the hospital he was being treated in has now been evacuated.
Gordon Brown has urged the police and British public to be vigil for suspect cars and packages. Meanwhile, a small bomb was detonated in a controlled situation, by Spanish police in Ibiza. Again, there has been no official connections between these plots in Spain, Scotland and England. However it is worrying that all four areas were targeted where there is:
a) American/British tourists
b) A large mass of people.

Gordon Brown's new cabinet

First decision that Gordon Brown has made in my opinion has been a disaster! Making Des Brown minister for Defence AND Scotland is a absurd thing to do! The ministry of defence is probably one of the most important ministries in the cabinet, and to make that a part time job is ludicrous. As David Cameron correctly pointed out

“If ever there was a need for a totally committed cabinet minister, this is it. After the Iran hostages shambles, it is not clear that Des Browne is up to one job, let alone two “

I am totally amazed by this decision, the most important sector of government has now been made part time!!! This is going to let down our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq (and other areas as well) and the population!
Yes, I realise so far that I’ve been a bit biased against Gordon Brown, and am trying to give a non-biased account, but If he continues making decisions like the one above I won’t be able to help it! I suppose we should give him time, but not too much!

New terriost threat?

As you have heard from the news lately there have been three separate cases of terrorist incidents in the United Kingdom. The first, a car bomb parked outside the Tiger club in the Haymarket, Central London, was only reverted when a vigilant ambulance crew noticed the smell of gasoline and smoke leaving the car and another car which was parked in a nearby street was ticketed by a traffic warden and was towed away. Only later was the car discovered to have that same smell of gasoline and smoke appearing from it.
After an inspection both cars had a rather simple homemade bomb, which you and I could both create with a little research on the Internet. The cars contained petrol, gas cylinders and nails. A recipe for mass destruction and disaster.
Today, a car was driven at high speed into Glasgow International Airport. Witnesses report that it was on fire before the crash and was stopped at a security fire, where the police wrestled with the drivers of the car, one Asian, and detained them. The BBC says it is too early to conclude that this is a terrorist attack. I think that is laughable, of course it is, what a coincidence that three car related strikes on public areas, and the third might be an accident? Unlikely!
So has this new deadly tactic swept over here from Iraq? How come our intelligence services had no idea about these impending attacks, which thanks to the lord, didn’t go off? No one can deny that our security forces are working extremely hard and uncovering cases such as the Airport alert back in August, but it only takes one attack to escape the net and there are mass deaths.
What I am also worried about is that it is so easy for a terrorist to attain the materials needed to create a car bomb. The IRA adopted that tactic, and it seems that the terrorist group responsible for this (dangerous to assume it is one set of people when it’s another) have also adopted this tactic.
Is it also just a coincidence that in the first few days of Gordon Brown’s Prime Ministerial years, there’s immediately a terrorist ‘attack’ of which he now needs to chair the COBRA committee of intelligence and military personal. As I had mentioned above it is dangerous to presume it is Islamic Militants behind this attack, although more likely than other international terrorist organizations. However, the type of attack fits the typical trend of Islamic Groups either aligned with Al-Qaeda, or a splinter group who took on this task by themselves.
So has this deadly tactic made its way to our streets yet? What’s next? Death squads roaming the streets of Manchester? Extremely unlikely, I know, but it is worrying that the re-immerging tactic of car bombings has suddenly come back, the last car bomb was 6 years ago and the IRA were behind that one.
Is there more to come? Let’s hope the success rate is as poor as it is so far for those who are behind this.

Gordon Brown's changes

Mr Brown has already made his point, he is serious about this job. Whether his changes will change anything, we will have to wait and see. However, i view his changes as trying to fool us that he is trying to get rid of the Blair-rite era. His changes are as follows:
1. Two Departments for Children/Schooling and Higher Education/Skills (Two education ministers in the cabinet for the first time)
2. Beckett has quit as Foreign Office and Commonwealth affairs secretary to be replaced by David Miliband
3. Alistair Darling appointed as new Chancellor
4. Jack Straw is now the new justice secretary
5. New treasury team
6. 1997 order revoked (no orders can be given to Civil Servants)
7. NHS is his new 'prioty'

All these changes above have led to the biggest cabinet reshuffle since 1997. Some may say it's Brown's typical tactic of trying to fool us with new legislations, when infact they might have a worse impact than before. Others are getting the feeling that he is appointed friends and political supporters to high positions. It's the same party that Blair and Brown built in 1993, but Brown is trying to look like he's completly different to Blair ,will it work? What's your view on it?

Your view on the war on terror

Your view on the war in Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terror in general!

If you were Gordon Brown...

If you were Gordon Brown what would you want to change about the enviroment for teenagers in the United Kingdom?

Is Gordon Brown the right person to lead Britain??

Un-elected Gordon Brown moved into the Prime Ministers office yestarday. Is this right, do you feel comfortable about this? I feel that a election must be held as soon as possible to give him the right to become Prime Minister. I think he has schemed his way into the Prime Ministers office by backstabbing Tony Blair and holding a 'bloodless coup' last Autumn.
Brown is just someone who doesn't appeal to me as someone to lead the country. He is very bland and his public speeches are boring and uneventful.
He hasn't done much for the United Kingdom so far, apart from wasting away pensioner's pensions and using 'smoke and mirrors' tactics by throwing various pointless new tax cuts at us to whilst he raises the other taxes.
What is your opinion on the new Prime Minister?

Tony Blair's has left No. 10, but how will history remember him?

27th June 2007

This day is a historic day for not only the United Kingdom, but also the entire world. Tony Blair, a iconic Prime Minister in many ways, has ended his ten year long tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
How should we feel? Rejoiced that a man who has led us into a war where a outcome does not seem clear in the near future? Or sad that we have lost a Prime Minister who has truly tried for Great Britian in many ways and only made one major failure. It must be remembered that Tony Blair has made Britain into what it is today, a strong economic power which is at the forefront of Worldwide negotations.
After the economic turmoil of the 60s-90s, Mr Blair has succeded in making the UK into a stable country, of general content. Yes, it can be argued that the NHS is in shambles, but to be fair when wasn't it? The alliance he has created with many powerful political leaders has been critized to some extent, however i think the way he has connected Great Britian to the outer world has been fantastic, with George Bush of the United States, and before him Clinton, we now have a extremly strong ally who will stand by us no matter what, the 'special alliance' as they call it. He's also taken Britain out of the political back-waters of the EU and has now brought Britian to the fore of EU discussions. His growing relationship with Sarkosy of France, even though he is out of office, will greatly help Britian. He was in many respects a breath of fresh air to a enviroment dominated by the 'out of touch' elder generations.
However what has he done wrong. Critics argue that education standards have gone down, his choice of cabinet officials has been, frankly, awful (Charles Clarke for example), debts are going high and pensions seem to be falling down the drain pipe. Many argue he has put too much money into a system that in the end dindn't work. Roosevelt did that in the United States after during the depression with his New Deal, and was critizised by many for pouring in billions of dollars into a system that seemed not to be working, but in the end it did.
What must be realised with Blair is his impact on not only short-term Britain, but also long-term Britain. His legacy will always be in British Politics. For instance, he introduced the mininum wage. Although he did drag the UK into a war that felt, at least to me, as just as first, but a shambles now. Although he started a new war, he ended a hugely bloody war, something which David Cameron praised him for.
But it shows that Blair has been elected foriegn envoy for the quartet of the UN, America, EU and Russia that he is indeed a great politician and has the gift of the gab, this job is a tribute to Mr Blair. Will history be kind to Blair? We will have to wait and see, i feel his longer-term influences on us will leave a lot for us to judge him on.
No matter what you and i will think of the ex Prime Minister, he will be rememebered in history for various things
Was Blair a liar? Did he try for the best of the nation? Was he decietful? Was he let down by those around him? Could he of done worse or better?
Lets hear your comments............

Introduction

Hey People, welcome to my site!

Something that has been worrying me for the last couple of years is the lack of interest for politics in our generation, maybe because it's uncool or boring. Well, for a start i don't think am 'un-cool' am not a particulary nerdy guy, am sporty, i play music...just the usual, yet i've been interested in politics since a very young age. Politics is certainly not boring eithier, it's our future.
Politics has a link to everything in our lives, so it should be important to us, regardless of our age. Anouther thing is the voice of the younger generations is not heard enough, we are constantly told what to do and how to do things by politicians three times our age who think they know what it is like to be a teenager in the 21st Century, well now we have the oppurtunity to throw our opinions at politicians.
My plan is to use this site to lobby teen interests to MPs through connections which i already have. For us to be heard for once!
A few things i will not tolerate on this site. I will honour the right to free speech but the following comments involving any of the following will be deleted:
1. Racism
2. Extremism
3. Sexism
4. Swearing
