Its a real mess is what it is (I'd like to use stronger words but I've got the forum rules to watch). In both Afghanistan and Iraq, we have gone in, expecting to win both the hearts and minds of the people without a single murmur of dissent or anger. And we all know that has not happened. And now we are faced with a lose lose situation, certainly as far as Iraq goes (I havent heard a lot regarding Afghanistan recently). If we stay, more and more soldiers and civilians will die, if we leave, then the whole infrastructure (what little there is left of it) of the country and plunge it into a large civil war. What have we gotten ourselves into....
